More cabinet reshuffle coming before December; Ruto ally

There will be another cabinet reshuffle before the end of this year according to Ruto ally and Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro

There will be another cabinet reshuffle before the end of this year according to Ruto ally and Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro.

National Assembly Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro now says there will be another cabinet reshuffle before December.

Speaking on Thursday, October 5, Osoro asserted that abilities are now used to determine between competent and inept Cabinet Secretaries.

In order to improve government efficiency, the South Mugirango MP further mentioned that Principal Secretaries will be reshuffled before December.

“Before December, there are many things you will see, because the competence and incompetence of Cabinet Secretaries has been seen, along with their capacity and load. There are those who have a heavier burden than their capacity, and there are those who have a greater capacity. So, before December, you will see many things about reshuffling, because even the Permanent Secretaries were not affected much,” Osoro stated.

The South Mugirango MP, who spoke on Thursday at the Anglican Church of Kenya in Thika during a requiem mass for EALA MP Maina Karobia’s father, Jamleck Mwangi, urged CSs to rise to the occasion and execute their mandates to ensure the country’s social-economic development.

Osoro said the recent reorganization of the government by President William Ruto set the stage for more reshuffles and sackings he said would happen before the end of the year.

He warned that the non-performers would be shown the door.

Osoro noted that the reallocation of duties among the CSs was the clearest signal that the Head of State was not satisfied with the competence demonstrated by some of his ministers.

“You guys saw during the vetting process a nominee saying that monkeys can be moved from one place to the other. It is a clear indication that such a person cannot hold certain dockets,” Osoro said.

The Wednesday cabinet reshuffle affected CS Moses Kuria who was moved from the Trade Ministry to Public Service, performance, and Delivery Management.

CS Alfred Mutua was moved to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife and the Foreign Affairs docket was transferred to the office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

President Ruto also moved CS Alice Wahome to the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, housing and Urban Development and CS Zachariah Njeru to the Water and Sanitation Ministry.
