MP Osoro rejects overtunes for goat sacrifice by elders to atone for the feud between him and Kisii Governor Simba Arati.

In a continuous attempt to resolve the conflict between him and Kisii Governor Simba Arati, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has rejected new proposals on Monday to sacrifice a goat.

The Majority Whip said he was no longer interested in further ‘handshake talks with anybody’.

The legislator said that it’s time for every leader to focus on the tasks that the people have entrusted to them.

“There is nothing worth talking about now. Kila mtu ajihushishe na Kazi take,” stated the Majority Whip.

Osoro said he would only allow the law to take its course in settling the said cracks between him and Arati.

“Wacha sheria ifuatwe. That is what I can say for now,” the MP said.

His remark came after the Mwanyagetinge Heritage Council of elders ordered him, Arati, Senator Richard Onyonka, and Woman Rep Dorice Aburii to give six goats each to be used in the county cleansing ceremony.

The function has already been scheduled to take place at Manga Hill on February 1st, 2024.

Osoro on his part quickly rubbished the planned animal sacrifice saying he does not subscribe to ‘idol worship’.

“I don’t do idol worship. I only believe in Jesus Christ.

“There is no animal sacrifice that can change one’s heart and behaviour.

One only needs the blood of Jesus and prayers, ” Osoro said.

He described the planned ritual as ‘grotesque and alien’ to him.

During the press conference early Monday, the elders urged for dialogue to end the ‘blood-letting going on in the region’ following the animosity.

Osoro has already contacted his lawyers asking that the Governor apologize to him over skirmishes in Nyakembene in South Mugirango where guns were drawn.
