Speaking on Thursday when he officially opened the third national executive retreat in Karen, Nairobi, Ruto made it clear that his focus is on transforming the country and not the 2027 general election.
He stated that he is focused on ensuring the promises he made to the people are fulfilled, urging the members not to be distracted by political campaigns.
“I am not focused on the next election but on delivering on the transformation of our country that I promised Kenyans,” he stated.
The President also expressed satisfaction with the government’s progress so far, noting that while some decisions have been tough, they are beginning to yield positive results.
“I have made difficult decisions, but I am happy that they are paying dividends,” he said.
The two-day retreat brings together Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and senior government officials.

It is aimed at taking stock of the administration’s performance and assessing progress on key deliverables as well as making informed decisions about the path ahead.
The main focus is on the progress made in the Kenya Kwanza’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
The agenda focuses on six strategic areas of lowering the cost of living, eliminating hunger, creating jobs, widening the tax base, improving foreign exchange balance and promoting inclusive growth.
These objectives are being implemented through targeted investments in five key sectors of agriculture, health, MSMEs, digital superhighway and creative economy and housing.
“The question of the moment will be: what difference have our efforts made in the lives of Kenyans, and where should efforts be recast to enhance delivery?” Secretary to Cabinet Mercy Wanjau said recently.
