Nelson Havi reveals his net worth after announcing 2027 presidential bid

Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has disclosed that he is worth about Ksh1.2 billion

Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has disclosed that he is worth about Ksh1.2 billion.

Speaking on Monday, December 2, in a television show, Havi maintained that he is not a man of shallow pockets and therefore no questions should be asked if he gives a lot of money in church.

The former LSK boss was responding to a question from his constituents, who he claimed questioned President William Ruto’s source of wealth due to his generous contributions to the church.

“This is what my constituents are telling me. They say the president earns Ksh2 million a month and so how can he donate Ksh5 million every week? There is something called unexplained wealth. I know the president is a big farmer and is not a man of recent arrival. The president is a man of deep pockets and not limited to just his Ksh2 million salary.

“I am not also a man of shallow pockets. According to KRA, my net worth is about Ksh1.2 billion. So, if you see me donate Ksh5 million in church, don’t ask silly questions,” Havi remarked.

His remarks come after he announced that he will be running for the presidency in the 2027 general elections.

The former LSK president explained that there has to be an alternative to President Ruto, who is expected to seek re-election in 2027.

Havi claimed that if he becomes president, he will serve the nation in accordance with the rule of law and the will of the people.

“And this is what I want to do when I become president. I want to serve in accordance with the constitution and the will of the people. And this is why the youthful Kenyans demand alternative leadership,” Havi stated.
