Ruto’s Running Mate Announcement is Taking Long Than Expected As Kindiki, and Gachagua Spotted leaving Ruto Residence.
The naming of Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate has hit a snag after the two front runners for the position were spotted leaving.
Ruto was expected to announce his deputy on Saturday morning, but the announcement was moved to 1 p.m., then 3 p.m., and finally 5 p.m.
Ruto’s Running Mate Announcement
However, by the time of publishing this article the annoncement wasn’t yet made.
The race for running mate had narrowed down to Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.
However, sources revealed that negotiations had failed to bear fruits resulting in the exit of the two leaders.
Rigathi Gachagua’s vehicle was seen driving out of the DP’s home and later Kindiki left at about 5 PM.

Other leaders allied to the DP were still holed in a meeting at the DP’s residence including; Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Nandi Governor Joshua Sang, Aldai MP hopeful Marianne Kitany, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo among others.
Journalists had been kept waiting outside the DP’s main gate for more than eight hours.
Its rumoured Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki was the preffered candidate.
Reports also suggest that a dissatisfied Rigathi Gachagua remained adamant that he was equal to the task.
