Raila calls for Azimio parliamentary group meeting with Uhuru Kenyatta expected to attend amid plans to host parallel Madaraka Day celebrations.

Azimio Coalition is now mulling a plan to conduct a parallel Madaraka Day celebrations as a show of defiance against Ruto’s administration.

The revealations comes with Azimio camp set to hold Parliamentary Group meeting that is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

According to a publication by a local daily, the former President Uhuru Kenyatta and who recently made it clear that he will not be retiring from active politics anytime soon, will be attending the Azimio’s PG Meeting that is expected to take place at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation.

With Raila already given President Ruto ultimatum to ensure the bipartisan talks resume by Tuesday, the day they will holding their Parliamentary Group meeting, he is also expected to denounce DP Rigathi Gachagua’s remarks that the government is like a shareholding company.

The sources revealed that key issues will be discussed during the meeting, including the Finance Bill 2023, the bipartisan talks and their demands to President Ruto, and looming resumption of mass action, where it is alleged that Uhuru will be declaring his support for Raila and his camp.

Another issue on the list is the secession plan by Azimio, although it is not yet clear Uhuru’s stand.

Insiders revealed that former president Uhuru kenyatta despite the risks he faces has agreed to remain active in politics with all eyes fixed on 2027 general election where he is likely to play the role of Kingmaker.
