Neno Evangelism Center founder Pastor James Ng’ang’a has fired back at Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris after she called for his arrest over a video in which he appeared to confess to sexually assaulting a woman years ago.

Speaking on Wednesday, October 8, Pastor Nga’ng’a accused Passaris of unfairly targeting him.

The televangelist said he has no platform in Parliament to defend himself, but would instead take the matter before God.

“So, what have I done now? I have nowhere to sue you in Parliament, and I know you are going to make phone calls to have me arrested. What is that? There is a God in heaven; one day you will pay for this.

“You have bothered me about this land, and again you went to discuss me in Parliament. You don’t fear God? Just wait, you’ll see the consequences of this. This is the second time you have attacked me for no reason. I will report you to God. I will scatter you; I will send spiritual missiles against you,” said Nga’ng’a.

This comes after Passaris called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate and arrest Pastor Nga’ng’a after he admitted to having been part of an eight-person gang that sexually assaulted a woman years ago.

The Neno Evangelism founder made the confession before his congregation, sparking public outrage on social media.

“I have seen a clip circulating on social media allegedly showing Pastor Ng’ang’a confessing that he and eight others raped a woman. It is no laughing matter. We cannot move past such a serious matter without holding space for real accountability,” said Passaris.

The Nairobi Women Rep added that if the confession indeed happened, Pastor Ng’ang’a should cooperate with law enforcement to ensure justice for the victim.

“As a man of God, if the pastor did make that confession, he should surrender himself to the police, name the eight others involved, and help deliver justice for the survivor,” Passaris stated.

She added,” The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) must act swiftly to verify the video, protect the victim, and uphold the rule of law.”
