Police officer sprays 16 bullets on ‘expectant’ wife, then kills self
Police officer has sprayed his ‘expectant’ wife with 16 bullets, after which he turned the gun on himself.
Residents in Migori County’s Suna East were stunned after a police officer shot his wife 16 times before turning the gun on himself.
According to reports, the officer assigned to Migori Police Station left work at 11 p.m. for home.
The officer departed his workplace without surrendering his firearm, an AK47, according to Migori County Commander Mark Wanjala.
Neighbors reported hearing the police officer and his wife arguing before gunshots rang out at 1.40 a.m.
According to Wanjala, before shooting himself, the police officer sprayed 16 rounds on his wife.
“The firearm had 13 bullets remaining after the officer spent 17 cartridges,” Wanjala said.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the lifeless body of the policeman and his wife in the living room as their two-year-old daughter, who was unhurt watched helplessly.
Residents speculated the slain woman was expectant. However, Wanjala noted that he could not ascertain if she was expectant.
“I don’t know about the pregnancy,” Wanjala said.
The bodies of the two were taken to Migori County Referral Hospital’s morgue.
