Huge fire destroys several houses in Nairobi's South B

Several families have been left homeless after a dawn fire razed multiple houses in Mukuru Fuata Nyayo Village in South B, Nairobi County.
The inferno erupted on Thursday, November 20, at 2 AM, destroying property of unknown value in the area.
The fire broke out from one of the buildings before quickly spreading to other semi-permanent houses in the area.
The Nairobi City County Fire and Rescue Services team was deployed to the scene to help contain the inferno.
No casualties have been reported from the morning fire in Mukuru Fuata Nyayo.
Starehe Member of Parliament Amos Mwago has expressed his sympathy for the affected residents.
In a statement, Mwago said he will work with stakeholders to put in place measures to prevent future infernos.
“We are saddened by the fire that razed parts of Fuata Nyayo Village in Nairobi South last night, destroying property of unknown value.
“We stand with all affected families and are working closely with stakeholders to support the response and put measures in place to prevent such incidents in the future,” he stated.

This comes weeks after a fire erupted in the Mradi area in Embakasi and destroyed several houses. The inferno which occurred on Monday, November 3, also destroyed property of unknown value.
Following the incident, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino offered financial assistance to 101 residents whose houses were destroyed.
In a statement on Thursday, November 6, Babu sympathised with the affected families, noting that the inferno caused immense losses.
“I have provided financial support to 101 Embakasi East residents whose houses were razed down by fire in the Mradi area. We were deeply saddened by the loss they suffered due to the recent fire.
“No words can fully ease the pain of seeing cherished homes and belongings destroyed, but please know that you are not alone,” said Babu.
