Prepare for a crushing defeat in 2027, Ruto tells critics

President William Ruto has told his critics to prepare for a resounding defeat in the 2027 elections

President William Ruto has told his critics to prepare for a resounding defeat in the 2027 elections.

President William Ruto has declared a decisive win in the 2027 General Election despite continued criticism of his administration.

Speaking at the launch of sugarcane farmer bonuses in Mumias on Monday, January 20, Ruto said his social media critics will face a daunting task in trying to unseat him in the 2027 elections.

Ruto said Kenyans will ultimately decide who has delivered on their mandate and who has not.

He explained that one of the reasons he formed the broad-based government was to build consensus and widen his political space so that he could be re-elected.

Ruto added that online critics focus on drawing silhouettes and cartoons on social media rather than addressing the country’s development.

“These people who make noise on social media have a very difficult task ahead. Competing with me? They have a difficult task. Let me ask the people of Kakamega: do these people know how this sugarcane programme is planned? Do they even know where Mumias is? Have you heard them talk about roads or electricity?” Ruto posed.

Ruto asserted that despite online criticism, he is confident of silencing his opponents by winning the presidential election.

Ruto, appearing to steer away from election politics, said the next election is still far off, and his government will focus on implementing development projects in the meantime.

The president has always been vocal in addressing critics of his government who claim he will serve only one term.

On Sunday, January 12, Ruto reflected on his humble beginnings and expressed gratitude for the chance to lead the nation.

The president recalled his journey from humble beginnings and emphasised his commitment to fulfilling his divine mandate to transform the nation.

The President, who is on a five-day tour of the Western region, on Monday presided over the distribution of the first bonuses to sugar cane farmers who supply Mumias Sugar Company in Kakamega. A total of Sh150 million was paid to the farmers.

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya stirred the crowd when he accused the president of ignoring local leaders and relying on misinformation.

The MP highlighted the Social Health Authority (SHA), which he said was facing numerous implementation challenges, the controversial university funding model and the housing levy as some of the factors contributing to anger towards the Kenya Kwanza government.
