Raila accuses Ruto administartion of planning wanton killing of Luos

Top leaders in Ruto administration planned the killing of members of Luo community during protests according to Raila Odinga.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has claimed that the government planned the mass killing of Azimio supporters and mainly members of the Luo community.

Tens of Azimio followers were killed during street protests under the pretense of safeguarding property, according to Raila, who claimed that the government and its top officials were to blame.

The leader of the opposition compared the murders to the Holocaust, which occurred during the second world war between 1941 and 1945 and resulted in the extermination of Jews.

Raila wondered why President William Ruto had lauded the police for doing a ‘commendable’ job to protect the property of Kenyans when tens of people were allegedly murdered.

”You have talked about protecting properties, which property was destroyed in Bondo? This is basically planned wanton killing of our people,” Raila said.

Raila was speaking on Friday during interdenominational requiem service for victims of the alleged police brutality held at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga park in Bondo town.

The Azimio leader lamented that the government was allegedly profiling the Luo community and extinguishing it to perpetuate Ruto’s rule.

“That is the reason why you have profiled the people, it is not only about Luos but also about the people who voted overwhelmingly for Azimio,” he said in Bondo on Friday.

”I have lived long in Germany when Hitler targeted the Jews, he came up with the final solution and started to attack and kill the Jews the problem started this way.”

Raila warned the government against using the same Hitler tactics to profile a community even as he challenged the international community to ”come out strongly”.

“We want the international community to take note of this, this is unacceptable. We want the diplomatic community in Nairobi not to keep quiet but stand with Kenyans,” he said.
