Raila beats the government as he hatches a new plan to address supporters in the Nairobi CBD after unsuccessful attempts.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga finally gained entrance to Nairobi’s CBD with “close to no police interruptions” after several failed attempts to do so in order to address his supporters over the high cost of living.

On Monday, the Azimio leader left his Karen home using public transport to Nairobi CBD where he addressed a host of Kenyans.

There were no police chase cars and was a normal trip from Karen to town.

On arrival at CBD, Raila alighted around the Ambassadeur where he addressed a crowd of people without any police interference.

Raila then proceeded via Mama Ngina Street where he had a meal with Nairobi MCAs even as crowds gathered outside waiting for his address.

Raila called on Kenyans to come out in large numbers in a bid to support his signature collection drive.

He said the signature collection exercise will help prove that he is not alone in the push to have government reduce the cost of living.

“We are not criminals, we just don’t want to quarrel. Kenyans should understand that whatever we decide to do has a reason. The cost of living is high,” he said.

“We are going to collect 15 million signatures to say that we lack faith in President William Ruto’s government. This will show that I’m not alone but Kenyans are behind me. Everyone should sign.”

In a change of tactics, this was the first time in several months for Raila Odinga to address Kenyans in town over the high cost of living as he has always been met with the police force.

Tear gas, water cannons, and police officers have always been able to stop Raila save for Saba Saba Day when he successfully maneuvered through the City centre.
