Raila officially endorses Timothy Wanyonyi Gubernatorial Bid
Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has boosted Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi bid for the Nairobi governorship by officially endorsing him at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Nairobi’s Azimio la Wamama event.
Raila tapped an ideal good news to Nairobi residents while addressing a battery of handshake women by confidently re-assuring that if given the chance to take the leadership mantle in 2022, the second-term serving Westlands MP would transform the tranquility of the great city of city and uplift the lives of underprivileged people in the society.
This comes just two weeks after Mama Ida Odinga stamped Wanyonyi’s effort to succeed Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu, who was recently sworn in.
Wanyonyi drew forth a 10-point strategy to revitalize Nairobi’s bottlenecking challenges and create policies that prioritize the needs of the inhabitants.
The Nairobi County Governor’s seat has been vacant since December of last year (2020), when the former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was unceremoniously ejected from office after being impeached on graft charges.
In the race for Nairobi’s top seat, the people’s pick (Wanyonyi) would easily defeat incumbent Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu Mwendwa, renowned businesswoman Agnes Kagure, and Deputy President William Ruto’s close associate Margaret Wanjiru, among other fringe candidates.
