Former UDA chairman and Parliamentary Service Commissioner urges Ruto to abandon bipartisan talks and ‘charge’ Raila as it is happening to Donald Trump in the USA.

Parliamentary Service Commissioner and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has criticized the ongoing negotiations between Kenya Kwanza and the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party.

Muthama asserted in a speech on Sunday that Azimio leader Raila Odinga ought to be treated like former US President Donald Trump.

In addition, the UDA former UDA chairman urged the opposition supremo to retire from active politics.

“Raila should retire and go home. Raila will never be the President of Kenya. If justice was to be used properly, Raila is supposed to be treated like Donald Trump. When he (Trump) tried to overturn the will of the people in the United States he was taken to court,” Muthama said.

“If it were for me I would tell the President to abandon the talks. I would like to tell the President to take responsibility and stop being intimidated.”

Muthama’s sentiments come days after President William Ruto and Raila clashed over US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman’s sentiments over the 2022 General Elections, which threatened to cripple the ongoing talks.

In her sentiments, Whitman termed the August 2022 General Elections as the most credible poll Kenya ever held.

“The 2022 general election was the most credible election in Kenyan history and the results were upheld by the Supreme Court and power was transferred peacefully at the time,” she said.

In return, Raila accused Whitman of meddling with Kenya’s internal affairs, terming her as a rogue Ambassador.

“Tell the rogue ambassador that Kenya is not the United States and Kenya is not a colony of the United States. Keep your mouth shut when you are here otherwise, we will call for your recall.”

In retaliation, Ruto accused the opposition supremo of vilifying people and creating opportunities for Kenya.

“We will be very ungrateful to vilify the people creating opportunities for us. The American Ambassador said two statements of fact, that the 2022 election was free and fair,” Ruto said.
