Raila’s daughter regrets her father’s loss, alleges of a different system in determining elections
Raila’s daughter, Winnie Odinga regrets her father’s loss in the August polls as she alleges of a different system in determining the outcome of elections
Azimio coalition leader Raila Odinga’s daughter Winnie has regretted her father’s loss in the August presidential poll.
Winnie claimed that if she had been in charge on election day, she and her father would be in the state house. Winnie had taken a hiatus from Twitter in September.
Raila’s daughter claimed there was a separate system between election day and the election campaign in a tweet.
“Back on Twitter after some time, and my mentions are in shambles. I see you’ve been talking. Just know there’s a whole different system between an election campaign and an election day. If I was handling the latter, I’d be tweeting this from the wedding venue!” she said.

Winnie Odinga had announced that she would get married in 2022 after her father wins the presidency.
Speaking on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, during a meeting with Mt Kenya youths in which his father was in attendance, the 31-year-old invited Kenyans to her wedding, which she said would happen on the lawns of State House, Nairobi.
“Tell them that I said, Winnie Odinga will get married in 2022, on the lawns of State House, And you are all invited, so if you want that to happen, go register to vote,” she said.
Winnie Odinga found herself at the center of accusations following her father’s loss in the August polls.
Many of the Azimio supporters and insiders within Raila’s campaign team blamed their loss on the role she was assigned in managing the elections.
Over time, she has emerged as her father’s confidant – a close ally and operative who is trusted with first-hand information on Raila’s political moves, including high-profile underhand dealings.
Her modus operandi rattled many during the campaigns for the August 9 elections.
Many claims have been made against her, ranging from alleged arrogance, the acquisition of the billboard business, the hiring and dismissing of campaign employees without proper communication, to denying senior lawmakers access to the presidential candidate.
A number of business leaders from the Mt Kenya region, who largely supported the Azimio campaign, are said to have been “deeply irked” by her actions.
Two ODM-allied governors from Nyanza and Western Kenya reportedly protested to Odinga.
“But her parents were her enablers and could not reprimand her. Instead, they cheered her on for her efforts towards delivering the presidency,” said a politician from the Coast.
