Raila demands an audit of the August polls as he says Azimio doesn’t recognize Ruto as president during the Kamukunji rally.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has declared that he does not recognize William Ruto as Kenya’s president.

Speaking at a rally in Kamukunji of Monday afternoon Raila called for an independent organization to audit the 2022 election results.

The Azimio leader referred to findings by whistleblowers at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), claiming that the election was stolen from him.

He claimed that the Supreme Court and IEBC were infiltrated by cartels and made the following clarion call:

“We as Azimio reject the 2022 election results totally. We cannot and will not recognize the Kenya Kwanza regime and term its government as illegitimate.

“We do not recognize William Ruto as the president of Kenya and we equally do not recognize any officials in the office with him.

“We demand that the entire infrastructure and the records of the 2022 elections at the IEBC be made public and be audited by an impartial body. A forensic audit of the IEBC results and systems is non-negotiable

“We demand that any attempts to reconstitute the IEBC single-handedly by Ruto cease forthwith so that Kenyans themselves can reconstitute the body after the firm and fair deliberations.

“We reject the empty [promises made and being made by the UDA regime and call on Kenyans to reject the punitive policies that are making life unbearable.UDA is resorting to these policies because it was not ready and did not get any mandate to govern.

“We call on Kenyans to resist and demand the removal of the punitive taxes that have led to punitive costs of basic products and services including Unga, milk, sugar, school books, fuel, electricity, bus fare, paraffin, and school fees.

“From today, we call on every Kenyan buying electricity to take a keen look at the statement and see how much of their money actually goes into tokens, taxes, and how long we are going to live like this

“We demand that the Kenya Kwanza government resigns as it has neither the mandate nor the ability to govern the country
