Raila makes a late-night call to all Kenyans ahead of Monday’s mass demonstration scheduled to start at Nairobi CBD.
In his message, Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga called on Kenyans to awaken the spirit of fighting oppressive regimes as they have done in the past.
Raila clarified that the match to the president’s office is not about any tribe, race, or religion, but it’s all about the well-being of Kenyans.
He said Kenyans who want to be in charge of their fate can do it despite the threats being meted on them.
“My dear Kenyans, I’m not interested in your tribe, your race, your religion, your age. I am only interested in your happiness. We make possible the impossible. We are Kenyans. We set the trend,” Raila said.
“I call on our people to awaken the old fighting spirit that was always capable of bringing down failed bloodthirsty regimes. People who want to take charge of their destiny can do it despite threats and intimidation.

The ODM leader is expected to lead his supporters in an anti-government match to the office of the president.
According to Raila, all they intend to do is hand a petition to the president.
Meanwhile, police have been deployed to areas surrounding the State House in Nairobi and at different points in the Central Business District (CBD) in preparation for the Azimio protests.
In addition, there was heightened security in areas considered to be an Azimio strongholds.
