Infotrak report ranks the best and worst performing Cabinet Secretaries in the Ruto government after almost one year in office.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has been ranked the best-performing Cabinet Secretary while East Africa Community (EAC) Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano ranked the worst-performing CS.

The report by research firm Infotrak released on Tuesday, evaluated the performance of CSs during their first ten months in office, classifying those with scores below one percent as the worst performers.

Zachary Njeru (Lands) and Florence Bore (Labour) were ranked with a 0.2 percent approval rating.

Energy CS Davis Chirchir and his Cooperatives counterpart, Simon Chelugui, both scored 0.3 percent.

Njuguna Ndung’u (Treasury) and Salim Mvurya (Mining) tied at 0.4 percent, while Soipan Tuya (Environment), Aisha Jumwa (Public Service) and Peninah Malonza (Tourism) both scored one percent.

On the other hand, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki was ranked as the best-performing CS with 33 percent, followed by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu at 13 percent.

Susan Nakhumicha (Health) was ranked third with eight percent, while Kipchumba Murkomen and Mithika Linturi scored six percent each.

Sports CS Ababu Namwamba garnered four percent, while the ICT sector (Eliud Owalo) and Foreign Affairs (Alfred Mutua) each received a three percent rating.

The findings were based on a survey of 4,000 candidates conducted across Kenya between August 23 and September 10 of this year.

The poll also revealed Kenyans’ attitudes toward the country’s current leadership, with 30% believing the country is on the right track.

Those who believe Kenya is on the right track cite peace as a key indicator.

Elsewhere, 53 percent of others believe the country is headed the wrong way, and cited the high cost of living, as well as unemployment as some of the indicators

Among the areas which doubted Ruto’s leadership were Western (68 percent), Nyanza (67 percent), Nairobi (61 percent), and Eastern (56 percent).

The reasons cited for their lack of confidence in the government included the high cost of living (89 percent), unemployment (34 percent), poor governance (20 percent), poverty (12 percent), bad politics ( eight percent), and low quality of education at five percent.
