Ruto appoints former Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe as Chairperson of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).

In a Gazette notice dated Friday, February 3, President William Ruto confirmed the appointment of Mwathethe as the substantive chair.

After a career in the military lasting more than three decades, he was appointed to the job in 2015, succeeding former Chief Julius Karangi.

After his retirement, Mwathethe was appointed as the Chairperson of Kenya’s power-generating corporation, KenGen, a position he served until his recent appointment that will run for three years.

In addition, the President announced a host of appointments to various parastatals and other government bodies including the appointment of Dr Jane Lagat as the Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board, for a period of three years.
