Ruto donates Ksh50M for construction of ADC Church in Vihiga County
President William Ruto has donated Ksh50 million to the African Divine Church Service for the construction of their headquarters in Vihiga County.
Speaking during a church service on Sunday, November 2, the Head of State said that he sent the money last week. Ruto noted that the Ksh50 million contribution will supplement the Ksh20 million raised by church members to facilitate the completion of the Ksh80 million project.
According to Ruto, the clergy of the church have already explained to him that the new facility will have various facilities, such as conference halls and offices, among other amenities.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, and other local leaders will also contribute the remaining Ksh10million funds to see the timely completion of the project, according to Ruto.
According to the Head of State, once the church is complete, he will personally go to see its opening.

“When I was here, you told me that you wanted to build a cathedral, which would be your headquarters. At that time, we were told that it was going to be a small church, so we gave out three million first, but you said that you wanted a bigger church,” Ruto said.
“Your clergy came to my office and told me that the Ksh3 million we had given was not enough, so you wanted an additional Ksh50 million for it to be Ksh80 million, and I agreed. And last week I sent Ksh50 million,” he added.
According to Ruto, the move was motivated by the close relationship he has with the church and its clergy, who have been supporting him and his administration ever since he took office.
During the same service, Ruto further donated a brand new vehicle that will be used by ADC’s bishop during his ministry.
“As you all know, this church and the clergy of this church are very good friends of mine. It is not my first time being in this church. I have always been with you, and you have always been there for me, especially when I needed friends,” Ruto said.
Ruto further donated Ksh2 million to the family of one of the congregants, from a different church, who has not been buried for six years due to land issues. Ruto said that the money should be used to buy land, which will be used to bury him.
“I have just been told that there is a congregant from PAG that has been in the mortuary for six years, so I will give them two million so that and may be bought and that he may be buried. And it is not okay to keep quiet in such matters because families are suffering,” he said.
