President Ruto receives a warm welcome in Kisumu, states his major plan for the county.
Residents in Kisumu County on Wednesday, August 28, turned out in large numbers to welcome President William Ruto who is on a development tour of the Nyanza region.
Residents thronged Kisumu city and cheered the Head of State as he made his way into the city.
“What unites us is greater than what divides us. Let us combine efforts and take Kenya to the next level. Thank you the people and traders of the great City of Kisumu for the warm welcome,” Ruto stated.

The President announced that he would launch the Lumumba Affordable Housing program and digital jobs in the County.
The Lumumba Affordable Housing Project is a 2,384-unit residential project located in Kisumu Central Constituency in Kisumu County.
The project will be delivered using a contractor model where the development of the Affordable Housing units will be undertaken at a project cost of Ksh 5,752,956,230.
At the same time, the Head of State asked Kisumu residents to pray for Raila Odinga to become the African Union Commission chairperson.
