Ruto issues stern warning to CSs Kuria, Murkomeni, Jumwa and MPs Sudi and Wamuchomba

President Ruto through his UDA party issues a warning to CSs Kuria, Murkomen and Aisha Jumwa for engaging in politics.

UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala has called out Cabinet Secretaries Moses Kuria (Public Service) and Kipchumba Murkomen (Transport) for engaging in politics.

In a statement on Wednesday, Malala said holders of their offices must remain apolitical by law, and they must strive to ensure that.

“It has come to my attention that some Cabinet Secretaries have been involving themselves in political activities, contrary to the law which requires them to remain apolitical,” he said.

Malala went on to say that should the Cabinet Secretaries feel the need to engage in politics actively, they must resign from the public offices they hold.

Malala insisted that their focus should be on serving the people of Kenya at all times.

“Moses Kuria, the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Gender, and Affirmative Action, your primary responsibility is to serve the people within your docket. Should you wish to engage in politics, you are welcome to resign and join the political arena.

“Similarly, Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, your focus should be on addressing the pressing issues in your ministry, particularly the reclamation of roads damaged by recent floods. Serve the Kenyan people or step down from your position and return to politics,” Malala said.

In addition, UDA also ordered several politicians within the party including Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi to cease their attacks against Deputy President Rigathi or have disciplinary action taken against them.

The party also censured Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, presumably because of his tough political stance threatening Mt. Kenya action against President William Ruto’s UDA camp over Gachagua’s alleged isolation in the ruling party.

A warning was also issued to Githuguru MP, Gathoni Wamuchomba who is a UDA turned critic to the Ruto administration.

Malala who spoke after his return to the country from China said that he has been deeply concerned with the way leaders from within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) have been conducting themselves.

He noted that they have shown disrespect to the leadership of the ruling party.

The remarks come amid reports of a division in the Rift Valley over support for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Murkomen was among CSs who accompanied the DP to Uasin Gishu over the weekend, where the leaders rallied support for Gachagua.

They were in Kesses for a fundraiser.

CS Kuria has on the other hand openly defied the second-in-command.

Through posts on his social media accounts, Kuria has on many occasions publicly disagreed with the DP.

However, he maintains that Gachagua is his boss and good friend.
