Ruto partners with Germany to offer 350K youth job opportunities

Ruto partners with Germany to offer 350K youth job opportunities to curb the unemployment rate in the country.

The government’s new collaboration with Germany to reduce unemployment will help approximately 350,000 young Kenyans between the ages of 18 and 35.

On Tuesday, November 15, President William Ruto made the announcement during the second cabinet meeting held at State House.

The program, which targets 250,000 young entrepreneurs around the nation, will inform them about marketing campaigns, websites, and call-ins to the center.

Moreover, 100,000 more young entrepreneurs will have access to comprehensive screening services like coaching, mentorship, and career advice.

As a result, the government established the Centre of Entrepreneurship to position micro and small businesses and promote employment development.

The centre will be located within Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE).

This will lead to the employment of young people, who make up the bulk of the population, and the generation of wealth.

In addition, the program is anticipated to give young people 50,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.

The cooperation aims to increase manufacturing production and strengthen the nation’s general competitiveness in the global market.

The announcement came after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua launched a mass youth employment programme named Kenya Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Accelerator (KYEEA) on Monday, October 31.

“The youth remain central to our Government’s agenda to improve the lives of the millions of youth around the country,” Gachagua remarked after partnering with Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA).

Kenyans under the age of 35 will thus acquire relevant skills and training to make their courses relevant in the market.
