Ruto responds to Raila over rogue remarks on US Amb Meg Whitman

Ruto tells off Azimio leader Raila Odinga over his critique of US Ambassador Meg Whitman labelling her as rogue.
Speaking in Kasarani during the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) 2jiajiri Graduation event on Friday, Ruto defended Whitman after Raila Odinga asked her to keep off Kenyan affairs.
He said it was the people to decide who was rogue the opposition or the ambassador.
“I found myself wondering, between those orchestrating demonstrations and causing property damage, and the ambassador who made the statement, who truly holds the label of ‘rogue’? I leave this question for Kenyans to contemplate.”
The president said the opposition should have some decorum and respect for themselves as they demand the same from others.
“Let us learn to respect ourselves before we demand to be respected,” Ruto said.
He further said that the American Ambassador stated factual statements.
“She said the last election was free and fair in the history of Kenya which is true. She also stated that Kenya is open for business, true,” he said.

Ambassador Whitman, in her address at the opening of the Devolution Conference on Wednesday, opined that the 2022 polls solidified Kenya’s standing as the most democratic nation on the continent.
Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Thursday fired back at US Ambassador Meg Whitman telling her to keep off Kenyan affairs.
He said Kenya is not a US colony and should be left to handle its internal affairs.
“Tell the rogue ambassador Kenya is not the United States. Kenya is not a colony of the United States. Keep your mouth while you are here. Otherwise, we will call for your recall back to your country,” Raila said amid cheers from a section of the participants.
