Ruto sends emissaries to former President Uhuru Kenyatta days after the family plea.

President William Ruto sent emissaries to former President Uhuru Kenyatta following intervention from Kenyatta’s family, according to deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

Gachagua revealed government efforts to resolve contentious issues with the Kenyatta family while speaking at an interdenominational worship in Malava, Kakamega County.

The government indicated its openness to talk about the working arrangements, revenue remittance, and allegedly hidden overseas holdings.

Gachagua further stated that Kenyatta’s family could call for an honest conversation, and they could discuss whether they would pay tax or not and how to go about it.

“I have sent you a message through your emissary, please, if you want to talk to us because you don’t want to pay taxes, if you want to talk to us so that you do not return the property you put abroad,” Gachagua stated.

“You can call us for an honest conversation, and then we can discuss whether you pay tax or you don’t and how to do it. we can agree on that,” Gachagua stated.

He chastised the former head of state, ordering him to stop organizing anti-government demonstrations using Raila Amollo Odinga, the leader of the Azimio.

This comes after on Friday, Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale revealed that Kenyatta’s family had sent emissaries to President Ruto for a truce.

Duale further stated that Kenyatta’s family wanted immunity against attacks, but that guarantee should also be given to ordinary Kenyans.

However, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga refuted claims that Uhuru was funding the protests, adding that the former head of state was held up with international duties.

He also condemned the attack on his Spectre gas firm and Uhuru’s Northlands City.
