Salasya hits back at UDA Governor for mocking his presidential bid

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has slammed Kericho Governor Eric Mutai after he mocked his 2027 Presidential Bid.
Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has slammed Kericho Governor Eric Mutai after he mocked his 2027 Presidential Bid.
In a statement on Thursday, June 5, Salasya claimed he has accomplished more for Mumias East through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) than Governor Mutai has delivered to the people of Kericho.
The Mumias East MP also said he did not visit Kericho to decampaign Governor Mutai but to popularize his presidential bid.
“Kericho Governor Eric Mutai, it’s unfortunate to call me bangi. What I have achieved in Mumias East as MP through CDF, you can’t match or compare with your county.
“People of Kericho love me so much and I didn’t come to Kericho to decampaign you, but to popularize my presidential bid of 202,7 and young people shocked even me with love and support,” said Salasya.

Salasya was responding to a video of Governor Mutai in which the Kericho Governor downplayed his presidential ambitions, claiming he would be a more suitable presidential candidate than Salasya.
“Is Salasya someone who can become President? Even I’d be a better candidate. I saw him come to Kericho, spoke and then left,” said Governor Mutai.
On April 28, Salasya announced that he will seek the presidency in the next general election.
The first-term lawmaker has since been conducting public rallies across the country to popularize his bid.
