The Khalwale, who addressed the media on Wednesday, November 26, also claimed there is a plot to apprehend him ahead of tomorrow’s by-elections.

“My security details have been pulled without any warning or explanation,” Khalwale claimed, linking it to his strong stance against some senior government officials.

Khalwale revealed a well-coordinated plot by police officers to arrest him at his home, insisting that he would not be intimidated by the mere threats of arrest.

He, however, maintained that he was ready to face arrest, noting that he had in the past experienced similar situations and that there was no need to be scared.

“I hear that they want to arrest me. Please do not waste your fuel, I will either sleep in my home, which is very well known or in memory of Peter Soita Shitanda, I will sleep at his hotel,” the Senator said.

“Do not waste your fuel, just come to my home, and I will accompany you in the usual way. I have been arrested, teargassed and shot at for so many years,” he added.

His claims come just hours after Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya raised similar concerns, accusing the government of allegedly withdrawing his security. without any proper explanation.

In a statement on Wednesday morning, Natembeya alleged that his security was withdrawn at around 12 am today, amidst his criticism of President William Ruto’s administration.

He criticised the government for allegedly abandoning its mandate of protecting citizens, including leaders, regardless of their political affiliations.

“Five years ago, the state withdrew the security of the then Deputy President William Ruto, but the journey never stopped. Today, the same script is repeating itself. Our security too has been withdrawn. But we shall rise above it,” Natembeya said.

Natembeya’s security withdrawal comes on the back of the Governor’s recent campaigns for Seth Panyako for the Malava Constituency parliamentary seat.
