Police have launched a manhunt for armed men who attacked an Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at a car park in Vihiga County on Thursday at 1:00 am.

According to police report, the officer had just parked his vehicle outside a plaza around Majengo Market before the ambush happened.

Other officers also rushed the injured OCS to the neighbouring health facility for first aid. According to the police, the OCS is in stable condition.

Police said they have launched investigations to establish the motive behind the incident and whether the OCS was targeted or it was a random attack.
