Police arrest seven university students busted engaging in explicit content production ‘adult films’ in Kakamega.

Police in Kakamega detained seven young ladies, some of whom are thought to be university students, after they were allegedly found producing sexual content inside an apartment complex in Mwiyala Ward, Sheywe Sub-County.

The suspects, one of whom is reportedly from Uganda, are said to have led opulent lifestyles that are concealed from their neighbors’ prying eyes, in sharp contrast to their public personas and purported involvement in the creation of sexual content.

Mwiyala locals voiced their disgust with the occurrence, pointing out the harm it did to young children.

“What these girls have done is portray a very bad image to young kids. Parents assume that their children are in school studying, only to receive such disheartening news of their involvement in such activities for quick financial gains,” said a concerned resident.

The students were taken into custody with various tools and equipment, including cameras, electronic devices linked to explicit content production (adult films), and computers, according to Kakamega County Police Commander Joseph Kigen.

“The DCI is investigating this issue therefore we cannot give further information on the case before we are briefed on more by the Cyber Crime office because those devices have been taken for forensic testing to verify that they indeed partook in such activities,” police said.

Police revealed they’re further pursuing leads to identify any potential accomplices associated with the group.

Residents are now urging the government to address the issue comprehensively and take measures to prevent their recurrence.
