Residents of Gesabakwa village in Bomachoge Borabu, Kisii County, decided to bury a man killed by unknown assailants inside his house before expelling his family, alleging their involvement in the heinous incident.
The angry villagers claimed the death of Elvis Marube, who was found lifeless in his bedroom a month ago after being struck with a blunt object, was suspicious.
A special Abagusii rite was performed by elders before digging the grave in the deceased’s living room, paving the way for Marube’s final resting place.

“We decided to settle on his house as his final resting place,” Elkana Alex, the deceased’s uncle, said.
Earlier in the week, locals staged a 10-kilometre walk to Kenyenya Police Station, demanding answers about the circumstances surrounding the death of the 46-year-old and ten others who have been killed under mysterious circumstances in recent years.
“I guarantee that we will get to the bottom of these killings,” Kenyenya OCPD Gome Sebbe told the irate residents.
