Police arrest a man for allegedly beheading his wife to death for taking too long to prepare tea.

In Faljagadh, India, a 52-year-old man is being held by the police on charges of beheading his spouse for allegedly taking too long to prepare his morning tea.

Dharamveer was upset when he asked his wife Sundari why his morning tea wasn’t being served right away, according to a Times of India article.

It is said that on Tuesday morning around six in the morning, Dharamveer asked for his morning coffee as usual. 

When he inquired again a little while later, Sundari informed him that it would take an additional ten minutes to serve the tea.

Sundari’s response prompted the now enraged Dharamveer to go downstairs to fetch his sword.

He is then said to have stabbed his wife from the back when she was tending to the brewing tea and the tussle that followed awoke their four children.

“Jolted out of sleep by her cries, the children rushed to the terrace and tried to save their mother but Dharamveer swished the sword at them too. They went back to their room in fear,” police superintendent Vivek Yadav told The Times of India. 

He is said to have stabbed Sundari about 15 times before decapitating her.

Soldier the couple’s son, said his father would often pick fights with their mother over tea but had never witnessed him being violent with Sundari.

“We were in shock when we saw her body on the terrace, blood trickling out of the wounds,” said Soldier.

Dharamveer was found crying by the body where he was arrested by police and taken in custody.

Meanwhile, Sandura’s body has been sent for autopsy.
