U.S. Embassy unveils one-year Fulbright teaching assistant opportunities for Kenyans.

United States Embassy in Nairobi has announced a critical cut-off point just 11 days away for Kenyan students through the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program.

The programme, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), offers a chance for Kenyan educators to spend an academic year in the United States, teaching their native language and culture.

Scheduled to run from 2025 to 2026, the Fulbright FLTA Programme targets educators from five African nations: Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, and Tanzania.

This initiative is designed to foster cross-cultural understanding by placing language teaching assistants in U.S. higher education institutions.

The programme aims to enhance Americans’ knowledge of foreign cultures and languages through direct interaction with native speakers.

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens, holding the necessary travel documents, and must apply through the binational Fulbright Commission or the US Embassy in Kenya.
