Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was among the invite-only guests who attended the royal wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa of Jordan on June 1.

Jordan came to a standstill as citizens thronged the venue to witness the royal wedding conducted at the Zahran Palace in Jordan’s capital city, Amman.

Uhuru was seen shaking hands with the groom and bride after the duo tied the knot with smiles plastered on their faces.

The wedding came after nine months of engagement and lots of planning to accommodate the guest list of 1,700 invitees.

Later, the king of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah II of Jordan, hosted a dinner banquet for the guests of the wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein.

Among the other guests at the event were President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Prince William and Kate Middleton, apparent heirs to the throne of the United Kingdom, and US first lady Jill Biden.

The wedding was seen as a merger between the Saudi Arabian royal family and the Jordanian royal family.
