Uhuru introduced me to Somalia’s President as the next President, Raila revealed during his installation ceremony in Meru
Raila revealed during his installation ceremony in Meru by Njuri Ncheke elders that Uhuru introduced him as the next president to Somalia’s Head of State.
Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga today, 26, July moved to Meru county to intensify his campaigns after maintaining that he will not be attending the presidential debate.
Raila was accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua, Meru Governor Kirautu Murungi, Agriculture CS Peter Munya among other leaders allied to the coalition.
Speaking after his installation as Meru community elder, Raila revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta introduced him to his Somalia counterpart, Hassan Sheikh Mohammud, as the next Kenya’s president.
The Azimio presidential candidate said they were discussing the future of miraa’s business between Kenya and Somalia after Uhuru’s exit.
Raila added he’s going to take care of miraa’s business due to the existing good diplomatic relations between Somalia and him.
Raila argued that he is the one who advised Uhuru to go and speak with Somalia’s new president Sheikh Mohammud after the exit of the previous one, who banned Miraa and Air flights to Somalia.
He said Somalia President Mohammud asked Uhuru how things will continue since his term is coming to an end, that’s why Uhuru called him and introduced him to President Sheikh as the next Head of State.
“I know the problem which our Miraa farmers have been going through since the market in Somalia was closed. When that mad president went I asked Uhuru to go and talk to that new one. He went and talked to him and the market was opened again but he asked him about what is going to happen because Uhuru’s term is coming to an end. Uhuru then called me to the state house to talk with him and he assured me the miraa business will continue…” He said.
