Kenyan pastor cons US donor millions meant for children’s home and contruction of education centre.

A US donor is asking for help from the Kenyan legal system to reclaim a children’s home and school that she was duped by a bishop in Naivasha.

In order to establish an education center for underprivileged and vulnerable children, Sherri Gonzalez explained that she traveled to Kenya a year after founding a nonprofit organization in 2016.

She met a bishop serving at Oasis Grace in Naivasha, Kenya, and he pledged to assist her in establishing the school.

The main goal of the Karagita, Naivasha-based Sherri’s Education Center was to make sure that children who were at risk of not making it through puberty attended school.

“I hired Abiud Masinde as a director but later realised that he was sending me forged documents to show that I owned the school,” she explained noting that a later document search revealed that the pastor had registered the property under his name.

With the centre admitting students, Sherri in a video to the press remarked that she continuously sent the bishop cash to run the institution.

It was in 2020, the US based donor realised that she had been conned and the children’s home was registered under the pastor and ever since she has been trying to get her school back.

“I have hired two attorneys since and one switched sides and started working for him,” she regretted adding that she travelled from the United States to Naivasha Police Station to follow up on the matter but nothing was done ever since.

The US donor now wants justice to be served so that she can get back her school to allow her to continue helping needy children in the country.

“He was receiving money and other charitable donations from US donors through my organisation,” she explained how unsuspecting American citizens were duped by the bishop.

Her son, Genos Derwin Williams, a former National Football League (NFL) player was one of the largest donors helping raise millions for the project.

“I do not have any emotions for the Bishop, I am more angry that he has been allowed to get away with the act. All the money he has received from many people and kept to himself,” she stated.

“I was a blessing to help and he took it from the children, community and the future.”
