Gachagua has revealed that a team is working to gather evidence necessary to take President Ruto to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that a team is working to gather evidence necessary to take President Ruto to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Speaking to Kenyans in Seattle, the Democracy for the Citizens (DCP) party leader accused the President of overseeing gross human rights violations during recent anti-government protests in Kenya.
“I want to confirm that I have put up a team that is documenting all the atrocities, the killings, displacements, disappearances, and abductions taking place in Kenya,” Gachagua said.
He added that the team is compiling evidence to file a case at The Hague, aiming to hold Ruto accountable for alleged crimes under international law.
“We have a team that is putting evidence together to take William Ruto to the ICC at The Hague,” he added.

The former DP explained that his aim was to carefully gather atrocities witnessed during recent protests to push for a reopening of Ruto’s ICC case, which is currently suspended due to missing witnesses.
“The case was only suspended because witnesses had disappeared; however, this time around, his team is ensuring that everything is in place to ensure Ruto faces the consequences,” he stated.
Citing the loss of lives and insecurity reports from human rights organizations, Gachagua called on Kenyans in diaspora to support efforts to remove Ruto from office and pursue justice through international legal channels.
“That is a battle that I would like to invite you to help in. We have no other recourse to save our country other than sending Ruto home. We must all play a role, you cannot be silent, you must play a role in the liberation of our country,” Gachagua told the gathering.
The former DP is currently on a two-month tour of the United States, where he is meeting with Kenyans in different states to promote his Wantam political agenda and mobilize support for his party.
