Speaking in Nyeri, during an event led by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Friday, May 23, the MP noted that she did not want her constituency to miss out on government-sponsored development programmes.
She added that there was no reason for differences in the ruling party to make her leave he political party she had campaigned for to clinch power.
“I saw that I needed to be on the side where we are taking our taxes, because if resources are distributed, the people of Maragua will miss out,” the lawmaker remarked.
Wamaua also expressed that many individuals in the board-based government were not ill advised in supporting the government, which controls resources.
“Every time we usually talk about Raila Odinga. He is not stupid. Every time he wants to become President, he usually misses out. Afterwards, he finds his way into government. I asked myself, should some differences make us leave the government where we toiled for, and others are reaping?
“That is when I decided to walk with Ruto. I voted for him and I worked with him. We are in UDA, and life is going on,” she affirmed.

Wamaua was among the first leaders to decamp to Gachagua’s side when there were plans to impeach him.
Even after the impeachment, she maintained a close tie with the former DP.
However, in a surprising turn of events, she accompanied Ruto during his Mt Kenya tour in April.
At the event, she announced that she would work with Ruto, expressing that Kindiki had played a role in luring her back to the government side.
“Professor Kithure Kindiki is my good friend. I know (Mr President) you have been watching me, and I have been in talks with Kindiki since November,” she stated.
“Let me tell you, Mr. President, you are my good friend, and I want to say that besides a few mistakes, slipping is not falling.”
