EALA MP Winnie Odinga told off Kenyans seeking her father, Raila Odinga's intervention amidst hiked taxes and government service fees

EALA MP Winnie Odinga told off Kenyans seeking her father, Raila Odinga’s intervention amidst hiked taxes and government service fees.

The East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) member of Parliament was responding to an X user who asked her to tell his father to stage another round of anti-government protests.

However, Winnie Odinga in response slammed the tweep telling him to stop bothering his father since he sent him to his hometown in Bondo during the 2022 general elections.

Si uambie baba yako aweke maandamano,” the tweep’s tweet read. (‘Tell your father to organize protests’_.

In response, Winnie argued that a section of Kenyans celebrated after Raila, the Azimio Party Leader, lost the election to Ruto.

Among the jabs thrown at Raila by Ruto, his allies, and supporters was that they sent him to retire in his hometown, Bondo, in Siaya County.

Si ulimtuma Bondo? Achana na Babangu,” Winnie responded. (‘Didn’t you send him to Bondo? Leave my father alone).

Raila has been silent in recent weeks since Azimio and Kenya Kwanza agreed to have fresh bipartisan talks to address issues affecting Kenyans including the cost of living.

The government has also increased the fee for a standard 34-page passport from Ksh 4500 to Ksh 7500 and for a standard 50-page passport from Ksh 6000 to Ksh 9000.

An ordinary 66-page passport will now cost Ksh 12000 up from Ksh 7500 while a diplomatic 50-page document will now cost Ksh 15000 up from Ksh 7500.
