Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has apprehended a woman with bhang with a street value of Ksh15 million.
The successful arrest followed a joint raid by DCI and the border patrol unit at her home in Migori County.
According to DCI’s statement, the 26-year-old had stashed bhang in sacks weighing 531 kilograms.
The suspect had properly concealed the drugs that DCI required the help of sniffer dogs to trace them.
“Molinter Adhiambo Juma, 26 was nabbed at the said homestead in an operation conducted by a joint team of DCI detectives backed up by their K9 Isebania Border Post counterparts,” the statement read in part.

“In the stealth operation, 9 sacks of Cannabis sativa sticks and another 8 containing the unrefined drug were found at various concealed spots with the help of a sniffer dog.”
During the operation, her male counterpart managed to beat the police dragnet and escape. A manhunt has since been launched to arrest him.
DCI believe that the suspects are leading a trafficking syndicate in the region and sneaking some outside the country.
“An unidentified male suspect was in time to make good his escape from the scene which is the home of Osege Odhiambo, leaving behind the woman and the prohibited hard drug worth over Ksh15 million in street estimates,” DCI noted.
