The cruise ship MV World Odyssey, which hosts the world’s biggest floating campus, docked in Mombasa on Friday, September 9, 2024.

In a statement by the Kenya Ports Authority(KPA), the vessel popularly known as ‘Semester at Sea‘ which operates a sailing university campus for students makes her third visit to the Kenyan coast.

The vessel allows undergraduate students, recent university graduates, and students taking a gap year to study for one semester at sea – which involves cruising to different countries to learn about their histories and cultures.

“Semester at Sea carries students around the world learning the histories of the countries they visit. The students are of mixed nationalities with one Kenyan student aboard. She sailed from India and will be visiting Mauritius as the next port of call,” Kenya Ports Authority added noting that the cruise ship will be in Mombasa until Valentine’s Day.
