Communications Authority suspends Ezra Chiloba as Director General with Christopher Wambua appointed as his replacement.
The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has suspended Director General Ezra Chiloba and appointed Christopher Wambua in acting position.
In a statement to newsrooms on Monday, September 18, Christopher Wambua has been named as the Acting DG of communications authority.
According to the notice signed by Ms. Mary Wambui Mungai, who is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), the decision was reached on Monday after a board meeting.

“Following a meeting of the Authority’s Board held on September 18. resulting in the suspension of the Director General, I am pleased to inform all staff of the appointment of Christopher Wambua as a Director General in Acting Capacity effective today till further notice,” read part of the statement.
However, Mungai did not provide reasons for the suspension of Chiloba.
Mr. Ezra Chiloba was appointed Director General of the Communications Authority of Kenya on 28th September 2021.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Chiloba also served as the Chief Executive Officer/Commission Secretary of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) between 2015 – 2018.
Chiloba was set to hold the position for a 4-year renewable term.
