Secretary Blinken expresses appreciation for Kenya’s longstanding strategic partnership with the US as he congratulates Mudavadi on his Foreign Affairs role.
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with Kenyan Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi to congratulate him on his appointment as Foreign Minister.
The two leaders, according to a statement, exchanged views on the Kenya-US relations and issues of mutual interest, including regional peace and security.
Secretary Blinken expressed appreciation for Kenya’s longstanding strategic partnership with the United States and its significant contributions to global peace and stability.

“They appreciated the significant progress made in strengthening the strategic bilateral partnership between Kenya and the US and reaffirmed a shared commitment to advance the relations,” the statement reads.
The two also agreed to further regular consultations between the two sides at various levels.
The Secretary thanked Kenya for announcing its intent to lead a multinational security support mission to Haiti, addressing the crisis in Sudan, promoting peace in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, and countering extremism in Somalia.
The Secretary reaffirmed our shared democratic values and welcomed the deepening economic partnership between the United States and Kenya to the benefit of Kenyans and Americans alike.
