The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife has announced the sale of motor vehicles through public auction.
In a notice on Tuesday, June 18, the Ministry noted that the public auction will take place on July 4, 2024, at the KWS offices in Nairobi.
“The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife through the State Department for Wildlife in conjunction with M/s Speedman Commercial Agencies Limited will sell by public auction the under listed unserviceable, and obsolete motor vehicles and stores,” read part of the notice.
The motor vehicles included a Peugeot 406, a Toyota Prado, a Volkswagen Passat, a Nissan X-trail, a Toyota Corolla, a Mitsubishi Lancer, a Mitsubishi Gallant, two Nissan Tildas, a Nissan Urvan, and a Toyota Landcruiser.
Interested bidders were asked to pay a refundable deposit of Sh10,000 per lot, which was mandatory to obtain a bidding number.
The deposit shall be paid in cash at the State Department for Wildlife cash office located at the NSSF Building, Block A, 15th Floor.

Bidders were also asked to view the listed vehicles from the date of the announcement until the auction date during normal working hours.
According to the Ministry, the declared purchaser must immediately pay 25% of the purchase price in cash, with the remaining balance due within seven days of the auction.
Failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of the initial deposit, and the item will be offered to the second-highest bidder.
Successful bidders must collect their lots within seven days, failure to which a storage fee of Sh1,000 per day will be charged.
All bidders were required to obtain a catalogue for a non-refundable fee of Sh1,000 from Speedman Commercial Agencies Limited, located at NACICO Chambers, 3rd Floor, Moi Avenue, Nairobi.
