Why Gachagua impeachment is good for the country; Oscar Sudi

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi continued his onslaught against embattled DP Rigathi Gachagua calling on Kenyans to be patient with Members of Parliament who voted yes to the DP's impeachment
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi continued his onslaught against embattled DP Rigathi Gachagua calling on Kenyans to be patient with Members of Parliament who voted yes to the DP’s impeachment.
Sudi, through a video on Sunday, October 13, slammed the DP once again in another explosive tirade as he promised Kenyans that there was a valid reason why more than 280 MPs voted to impeach the Deputy President on Tuesday.
“Many are asking questions. I want to tell you Kenyans to be patient. We will explain one by one after we are done with our work,” he said, referring to Gachagua’s upcoming date with Destiny when the DP will appear before the Senate for the trial to defend himself against 11 charges.
He went on, ” We are not mad. More than 280 MPs versus 349 (voted to oust Gachagua). It is for the good of the country.”
In the wake of chants against President Ruto after a majority of the National Assembly voted to oust the DP, Sudi alleged the anti-Ruto chants were the works of sponsored goons.
Further, the outspoken MP accused Gachagua of practising politics along tribal lines, alleging that some political leaders attempted to prevail upon the DP to change his methods before finally resorting to impeachment.

“We will get rid of him because he is a huge enemy to this country. We have tried to speak to him as a leader and there is so much behind the scenes. Whatever it takes, we must get rid of our deputy President,” Sudi said, while accusing the DP of abandoning his office.
There appears to be no love lost between the Deputy President and Sudi, who has been one of Gachagua’s fiercest critics in recent weeks.
In September, Sudi gave Kenyans a glimpse of what was to come when he subtly tweeted “two weeks” on X, referring to the time Gachagua had left before an impeachment motion against the DP garnered steam.
This was followed by suggestions that Sudi was among the candidates to replace Gachagua as DP – something which the lawmaker vehemently denied.
Meanwhile, Gachagua’s fate is set to be decided on Wednesday, October 16, and Thursday, October 17, when the DP faces the Senate.
However, another lifeline for the DP frantic last-minute application from his legal team filed under a certificate of urgency to prevent Parliament’s trial chamber from considering the ouster motion. The matter, which is Gachagua’s 24th attempt (either directly or indirectly) to block his removal from office, will be heard on Monday, October 14.
