NYS announces mass job opportunities; How to apply

The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced 222 job opportunities for its graduates.

In a notice on Saturday, October 26, NYS disclosed that it is seeking to hire 120 security officers (only men) and 53 machine attendants (bending and punching machines).

The service also seeks to recruit 30 welders and seven secretaries 12 field agents (property management).

Security guards

For the security guards, interested candidates should have good customer service and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate comprehensively without prejudice.

They should also meet the following requirements:

* Have a minimum height of 5 feet 10 inches.

* Form 4 KCSE certificate, result slip, secondary school leaving certificate. (Original and a photocopy with a minimum grade of D+).

* Other academic and professional certificates, original and copies (Optional)

* Certificate of Good Conduct (not more than 6 months from the date of issue), or receipt/ an invoice showing you have made the application.

* National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Card, National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), KRA PIN certificate (original and photocopy).

* Original letter from the Chief/Sub-Chief from your rural home with a postal address (to include codes) and telephone contacts.
