Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pleaded with President William Ruto to leave his children alone.
Speaking on Wednesday, February 26 during an interview with vernacular radio stations from the Ukambani region, Gachagua asked the Head of State to stop going after his children and fight him instead.
“I am only asking the president, please, don’t kill my children, leave them alone. Let them fend for themselves, start their own families, and plan for their future. Fight with me because I am the one you have issues with,” said Gachagua.
The former DP said the government has mistreated his family, especially his children.
He claimed that the government ordered his children to be evicted from a building where they were doing business.
“My children have suffered a lot, and it is the president himself giving the orders. Where they were doing business, they have stayed for seven years, and now they have looked for the owner of that building, threatened him to evict my children,” Gachagua remarked.
He wondered why President Ruto was targeting his sons saying that they even voted for him in the 2022 general election.

Gachagua pointed out that the Head of State is being hated by Kenyans and the church due to such actions.
“Those children of Riggy G voted for you, their father helped you, they are just young and are not even married yet, why interfere with their businesses? And this is why people hate you because they see you as a beast. Even the church, when they learned how you are mistreating my children, they have turned against you,” he stated.
The former Deputy President further stated that he has advised his sons to accept the mistreatment they are facing from the state as a consequence of his actions.
“I have told my children, ‘a leopard’s cub remains a leopard.’ So, your father has chosen to fight for this country, and if you will suffer because of that, just accept it, because your father has taken a stand, and you must endure,” he added.
