Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has for the first time broken silence after he was replaced as the chairperson of the National Assembly’s Budget Committee.

Speaking at his office on Tuesday, March 18, the MP expressed that he did not know why the leadership of his coalition decided to have him replaced as the budget chair.

He added that he had never received any complaint from the Kenya Kwanza leadership, including President William Ruto, over his performance in the committee.

On the other hand, the lawmaker acknowledged that he had only read about plans for the ouster in the media.

“I also do not know. I am also saying that in good faith because I have not come here to blame anyone. I only came to set the record straight. No one in the leadership of our coalition, from whichever position, has ever called me in regards to the position, what I need to do better, what I need to change or things that need to be done in a different manner.

“I read in newspapers about myself the same way you do,” Nyoro stated.

The MP was speaking after he was replaced by Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi of ODM.

Nyoro was reportedly replaced from the committee following a fallout with Ruto. Notably, the two who were once close allies and friends have not been seen in public together lately.

The lawmaker was also silent during the impeachment of former DP Rigathi Gachagua – a time when allies of the President were all out to have the former DP kicked out of office.
