Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri faced a hostile reception in Kinangop during President William Ruto’s tour of Nyandarua County.

In the events that took place on Thursday, April 3, a section of the crowd at Engineers Market was seen waving their hands while the MP addressed the crowd.

There was also heckling during his speech, which only lasted for less than a minute.

Apart from Kiunjuri, the area County MP, Faith Gitau, was also heckled by a section of the crowd during her speech.

Unlike Ruto’s tour of Nyeri and Kirinyaga County on Tuesday and Wednesday, there was heckling at his events in Nyandarua.

Notably, before Kiunjuri’s heckling, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa also faced a hostile reception in Ol Kalou Town.

“Let me tell you. No one can shout me down. I cannot be intimidated,” the Kikuyu MP said during the incident.

Following the heckling, allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua teased Ichung’wah, given that they had noted that the locals were not happy with the current administration.

“Kimani Ichung’wah, I’m so sorry, but Nyandarua doesn’t like immaturity,” Nyandarua Senator John Methu wrote on X.
