Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will collect a £3.8m ‘loyalty bonus’ as he leaves on a free transfer, costing the club a whopping £219MILLION on his six-year spell.
The Red Devils revealed on Wednesday that the 29-year-old would depart United on a free transfer for the second time, having previously left for Juventus at the end of his contract in the summer of 2012.
Pogba’s return to Juventus has been much speculated about, as have potential moves to Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the player who, in the eyes of many, brings an end to a largely unsuccessful return to United.

According to the Daily Mail, the French World Cup champion will receive a significant loyalty bonus included in his terms signed in 2016 when he leaves in June, adding even more salt to the wounds of United fans.
The analysis calculates the overall cost of Pogba’s six-year spell at Old Trafford, estimating that the midfielder cost the club as much as £219m during that time.
A then world-record fee of £89m was paid to Juventus to bring Pogba back to the Premier League, whilst the Frenchman’s late agent Mino Raiola collected a fee of around £39m for his negotiations in the deal that included a salary of around £8m per year.
Once image rights and all further bonuses are included, the report suggests that the total cost is well over £200m for Pogba, who scored 39 goals in 226 appearances for the club during his second stint.
