IT experts from London, USA working to restore Linda Mwananchi website; Sifuna
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has intimated that a team of volunteer IT experts are working to restore the Linda Mwananchi website which was pulled down after alleged cyberattacks.
According to the embattled Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General, the movement is working with youthful experts from foreign nations who will reopen the website to continue their nationwide political engagements.
Speaking in a church service in Maru County, Sifuna linked the website’s attack to President William Ruto, vowing to ensure the revamped website will be hackproofed.
“These young people are the ones fixing the website that Kasongo shut down but we will reopen it tomorrow. IT experts from the USA, Washington, London have volunteered to seal all loopholes in the website,” he said.
The website was temporarily pulled down on Saturday after “thousands of malicious attacks” were observed, according to Sifuna.
He added that the Linda Mwananchi team would consider public feedback to enhance the website.

The Movement is being led by Sifuna and other members of the rival ODM party members who have opposed the partnership between the Raila Odinga founded party with the government.
Other members include Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Siaya County Governor James Orengo, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi and others.
The opposing faction led by ODM party leader Dr Oburu Oginga, dubbed the Linda Ground team, backs a broad-based arrangement and is pushing for a coalition with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Both factions have been staging rallies across the country in a bid to advance their respective agendas.
